Changes for the Basketball Season posted 12/19/2012
Attention: The PGCBGC Board of Directors at their board meeting on December 13, 2012 voted to allow “outside organizations”/non PGCBGC teams to participate in the PGCBGC basketball league for 2013. This decision allows teams such as PG Storm, Patuxent Rhinos and Bowie Broncos to participate in our basketball league under the same rules and requirements(background checks and ASEP) as the PGCBGC teams.
To equalize participation of all the teams the Board of Directors also waived the Seasonal Transfer requirements for the 2013 basketball season. This means children can play at whatever club they desire. Identification cards (yellow cards) are still required to participate and all dues must be paid before a child can be added onto your official roster.
Please pass the words of these changes are for the 2013 Basketball Season only! The 2013 Basketball Rules will be updated to reflect these changes.

COACHES - Eliminate Roster Problems posted 11/01/2012
Take the Time to Eliminate Roster Problems
During every sport season, several players are declared ineligible due to problems with the OFFICIAL ROSTERS. If a child is not totally cleared and given a yellow laminated card he/she will not be on the PGCBGC OFFICIAL ROSTER and therefore will be ILLEGAL to play until he/she receives a Yellow Laminated Card.
The following should be checked on your rosters to avoid problems during your season:
-
Names are not listed on the Roster
-
Nick Names are used
-
Player’s do not reside in the Club’s area
-
Dues are not paid
To eliminate these problems, it is strongly recommended that prior to the first game coaches must check their rosters in person at our office. Please call 301-446-6800 to make an appointment with someone on our staff.

When worn during contact sports, mouthguards prevent and reduce injuries to the teeth, lips and gums.
It is important for the player to have a mouthguard that fits well in order to work it's best. The better mouthguards absorb shock which can also help protect against jaw and brain injuries.
TWG - The WrightGUARD was created by Dr. Michael Wright, a Prosthodontist based in Maryland, to be the last line of defense in reducing the occurrence of severe concussions and devastating mouth injuries in contact sports such as football.
